The Innovation Corridor (IC) is a Founding Member of the US Department of Commerce-NIST Global City Teams Challenge (GCTC) Smart Regions Leadership Council and partner in the GCTC IoT/Cyber-Physical Systems program. The IC launched the nation’s first GCTC Supercomputer Modeling and AI Cluster for Smart Cities and Regions. The GCTC is a collaborative platform for the development of smart cities and communities, led by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the nation’s oldest national lab, in partnership with DHS Science & Technology Directorate, the International Trade Association, the National Telecommunications Industry Association, BroadbandUSA, and NASA.
The GCTC program is the nation’s premier initiative developed “to establish and demonstrate replicable, scalable, and sustainable models for incubation and deployment of interoperable, secure, standards-based solutions using advanced technologies such as IoT and Cyber-Physical Systems, and demonstrate their measurable benefits in cities and communities.” Through this global program, we support smart cities-related initiatives in over 300 cities across the world, from San Diego to New York, Miami to Seattle, Barcelona to Beijing, and Melbourne to Montreal. In addition, the IC is an industry leader supporting the GCTC’s Smart Buildings Supercluster, AI for the Built Environment, and our new Data Cluster.
